District Magistrate Directs Departments to Identify Plantation Sites, Push for Full Achievement of Development Targets

Gonda: District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan has directed all government departments to identify suitable locations for the upcoming plantation drive and prepare detailed action plans to ensure its successful implementation. The instructions were issued during a review meeting of development projects and welfare schemes monitored through the Chief Minister’s Dashboard at the Collectorate Auditorium.

Chairing the meeting, the District Magistrate conducted a comprehensive review of the progress of various government programmes being implemented across the district. She instructed officials to complete all assigned targets within stipulated timelines while maintaining quality standards and improving the district’s performance rankings.

The review covered key schemes including Family ID registration, old-age pension, widow pension, and programmes related to child development and nutrition, particularly those targeting severely and moderately malnourished children. Progress of infrastructure projects such as bridge construction, the Lekhpal Training Centre, and irrigation department initiatives was also assessed.

Emphasizing the importance of effective governance, the District Magistrate directed all departments to work in coordination and ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries without delay. She warned that accountability would be fixed in cases of negligence or failure to achieve targets.

A separate review of the District Environment Committee and District Ganga Committee was also held during the session. To strengthen environmental conservation efforts, officials were instructed to finalize plantation sites at the earliest, identify nurseries, and ensure adequate availability of saplings ahead of the plantation campaign.

The District Magistrate further directed departments to maintain proper documentation of development works by presenting photographs taken before the commencement of projects and after their completion through PowerPoint presentations in future review meetings. This, she said, would help assess the quality and impact of the work more effectively.

Highlighting environmental and public health concerns, she instructed health department officials to ensure that biomedical waste generated by hospitals across the district is disposed of strictly in accordance with government guidelines and prescribed standards.

The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad, Divisional Forest Officer Anurag Priyadarshi, District Development Officer Sushil Kumar Srivastava, NRLM District Coordinator J.N. Rao, District Economics and Statistics Officer N.K. Singh, District Panchayat Raj Officer Lalji Dubey, senior engineers from the Public Works Department, Labour Department officials, and representatives of various departments.

The District Magistrate reiterated that timely execution, inter-departmental coordination, and strict monitoring remain essential for achieving development goals and ensuring effective delivery of public services across the district.
